Meet Our Team
Dr. Katerina Stewart (Kat)
Pharm. D / Lead Pharmacist
Kat is originally from Tupelo, Mississippi. She completed both her undergraduate studies and pharmacy degree at the University of Mississippi. Since joining Cahaba Pharmacy in 2018, she’s become a cornerstone of our pharmacy family. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband Jackson, their son Ben, two dogs, and a cat. She enjoys puzzles, exercise, and her favorite hobby—snacking!
Jim Parekh
Pharm. D / Founder & Pharmacist
Jim is originally from Guntersville, AL and moved to Birmingham in 1995. He earned his pharmacy degree from Samford University in 2000. In 2011, Jim founded Cahaba Pharmacy with a vision to provide personalized, patient-centered care. He also established Liberty Pharmacy in 2017. Prior to founding his own pharmacies, Jim worked with Brookwood Hospital, CAPS, and CVS.
Jim and his wife, Pallavi, have two sons, Akash and Rohan, both students at Vestavia High School. They also have a beloved mini Australian Shepherd named Daisy. In his spare time, Jim enjoys gardening, exercising, traveling, and spending quality time with his family.
Aileen Giddens
RPh / Pharmacist
Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Aileen earned her pharmacy degree from Samford University in 1986. She has lived in Birmingham since 1990 and has been married to her husband Dave since 1988. Together, they are active members of Briarwood Presbyterian Church.
Aileen is a proud mother of three and the grandmother to two wonderful grandchildren. She enjoys cooking, attending Bible study, spending time with family, and shopping at Trader Joe’s.
Jasmine Baker
Pharmacy Technician
Originally from Lake Martin, AL, Jasmine moved to Birmingham in 2023. She quickly became a vital part of Cahaba Pharmacy. Her favorite thing about working here? The “work family” culture and the shared mission to prioritize patient care. She enjoys spending her free time outdoors.
Ashley Powell
Pharmacy Technician
With over 10 years of pharmacy experience, Ashley joined Cahaba Pharmacy in 2023 and has since become an invaluable part of the team. Known for her accuracy, customer-first approach, and deep knowledge of pharmacy operations, Ashley ensures prescriptions are prepared with precision while always putting patient care at the forefront.
Riley Ingram
Pharmacy Technician
Riley is from Alabaster, Alabama, and a 2020 graduate of Thompson High School. She entered the pharmacy field in 2022 and joined Cahaba Pharmacy in July 2024. When she’s not at the pharmacy, Riley enjoys hiking with her dog Sosa and spending time with friends and family.
